FABULOUS companion plant, commonly known as Bloody Root, Red Sorrel or Red Dock, perennial which if happy, can easily re-seed.
I've heard that it likes water, but mine got no extra water. I've also heard that it likes shade, so I will be trying it in shade, but mine get quite a bit of sun.
This pic was taken on Nov. 11, 2011 (how odd!) It had been repeatedly hit by frosts, you can see that the hem seedlings around it are going downhill, but every time it got hit by a frost, it popped right back up. And what color it provides! LOVE this plant!
